NATURAL LINEN COLOR TABLE MATS FROM THE LATE 19C FRANCE

NEVER USED

HANDMADE OPEN WORK EMBROIDERY AND BOBBIN LACE ALL AROUND

The measurements for the four identical table mats are: 14"X16"

The bobbin lace all around is one inch wide and has been sewn onto the linen piece by careful hand stitchery.  The open work embroidery is 1/2 inch away from the lace border and is beautifully made. 

The fabric is antique linen.  The color is sort of parchment or light tea color.  Once washed it should come out off white as all linen do.

The thread used for the bobbin lace is also linen.  The four mats are gorgeous and would make your holiday table very festive!

Linen is washable in machine and can be ironed or removed before completely dry from the dryer for a more rustic look, just like linen clothing that we buy nowadays.
