These four CDVs of Confederate officers came in an album in which there were two more Confederate images, each with a Point Lookout, MD backmark. I emphasize that these four images have NO backmarks, but are identical in every way to the other two, down to the glue smudging around the edges of the cartes. The second image bears a striking resemblance to Henry Kyd Douglas, Douglas wrote about his imprisonment at Point Lookout in his memoir, "I Rode With Stonewall," but I cannot confirm that this is Douglas. The first image is of a Confederate Captain in full uniform, and it may be possible to identify him with careful research. These images have glue smuding and slight chips to the albumen, but are quite clear. The came from a recently discovered album, and are fresh to the market. |
