You have Receivers and Transmitters.

Receivers have plugs in them so you can plug things in. Anything from lamps, tv's, stereos, coffee makers, anything. If the plug will fit, it'll work!

Transmitters "transmit" the signal to the "receivers" to turn them on or off. Transmitters can be hand held remote controls or wall mounted switches.

Should be pretty simple so far. Next, each and every SmartHome device has a dial displaying 1 - 8. On your Receivers, you set the dial to whatever number you want. When you set one of the Transmitters dial to this same #, it activates the device being controlled by the receiver. Yes, even the keychain remote control has a dial on it.

So, you have 8 numbers on each dial. This allows you to set up what we call 8 Zones. You could make your kitchen zone One. Your living room zone Two, the garage zone Three. So on and so forth. You can now control your whole house with any transmitter now!

EXAMPLE: When you pull up to your house, you can use your keychain remote to turn on the garage lights and the landscape lights, let's say zone 1 and 2. Before you're even in the house, you can turn your Kitchen on(lights, coffee maker, the crockpot, whatever), let's say zone 3. You put your keys and purse down in the foyer. In the kitchen, you can goto the wall switch and turn on your living room(lights, tv, you get the idea) and lets say the kids and master bedrooms on, say zone 4, 5 & 6. And you still have 2 zones you can use! Have a pond in the back yard? This is perfect for that too? It's only limited by your imagination!
