We have been working for over 2 years to bring back some of the classic Khotan rug styles from the 18th century. This carpet is a result of our hard work. It is an exact replica of the antique Chachma medallion style style, an old favorite from the Silk Road days.

Handmade professionally by true Uyghur carpet making masters, these antique styled rugs will make a fantastic addition to your home or office. It is a wool rug with cotton foundation, a .5 in. (2cm) thick pile, and about 100 knots per inch. It uses synthetic dyes, which are more durable than the original natural ones.

In this part of the world, families often do not sleep in beds but instead wrap themselves in these rugs to keep out the biting cold. They are warm, durable, and made for family use. It is a NEW rug, based on an old pattern, ensuring decades of comfort and decoration.

• 1. They are directly from the source. We travel the hills and villages, scour the markets, and trade directly with the rug owners and makers. There is no warehouse, no distributor, no collector in between you and this carpet.
• 2. We are in Kashgar, not Manhattan. This rug will take some time to get to you, and it can be scary working with overseas traders. But take a look at our history, we have not had one bad comment. That is because we take our customers very seriously and work to ensure his or her satisfaction.

Khotan is one of the ancient cities on the famous Silk Road. For centuries, the carpets from this area have been highly prized for their craftsmanship and beauty. This area is also known as Samarkand, but its current official name as part of China is the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. One main difference between these and other "oriental" rugs is that these will not shrink if they are washed. This carpet will last a long, long time, and is easily kept in good condition.

All our carpets are purchased in person in the Kashgar region. They are all authentic in the most literal sense. We are based in Kashgar and ship to clients around the world from here.
