40" Steam Powered RIVERBOAT Stern-Wheeler How-To PLANS




 Plans for the "Dixie Belle" a 40" Steam Powered model of a 1880's Mississippi Stern-Wheeler. The model churns along on quiet lakes or lagoon waters driven by the paddle wheel and the fascinating horizontal crank rod that churns back and forth. Designed to run "free flight" but I am sure that radio control is a viable option.
  • Scale is 1/4" to the foot.
  • Built from pine and plywood.
  • Can also be built half size as a 20" display model.
  • Also includes plans for power plant and drive train mechanism.
This is an original two part, 9 page magazine article from 1954.
