1940'S UNFINISHED HAND EMBROIDERED FLORALS AND FRUIT BOUQUET WITH PETITPOINT
This skillfully hand embroidered 1940's needlework was done by an accomplished needle woman. A canvas was used as a foundation, and the stitches are worked with wool thread. The foundation was usually held taut in a frame as the background petit point stitches are worked in at 20 stitches per inch. The petit point is found in the central floral and fruit bouquet. The background is not finished and you can finish it off with your choice of background color. CONDITION: The condition of the needlework is excellent, with no fading, no stains, and the colors are vibrant. Still retains its original label Bucilla. MEASUREMENTS: The finished needlework on canvas measures approx. 57-1/2" across x 3-1/4" in height. The original frame canvas measures 66'' x 10''. This pristine needlepoint is ready for any project.
