This auction is for a vintage MASONIC EDITION HOLY BIBLE, copyright 1947, containing the Old and New Testaments for use of the Craft, distributed by The Masonic History Company, Chicago, with preface titled: FREEMASONRY AND THE BIBLE, by H. L. Haywood and printed and bound in Great Britain by Collins' Clear-Type Press, London and Glasgow. The only writing in this book follows - To The Glory of The Grand Architect of the Universe - Presented To Our Worthy Brother - Walter Dent. By The Brethren of Inspiration Lodge 143, and signed by and dated in '52 and '53 by Worship Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, and Secretary and 16 Visiting Brethren and Friends. There are no other writings, no folds or creases, no rips or tears, and no loose or missing pages and the book is also well bound. It has gold gilted edges and the leather oversize cover has a very small tear at the top of the spine and a small worn spot on the bottom of the spine but other than that this Bible is in excellent condition in my opinion. This Masonic Editon Bible measures 9" by 6" and is 1 3/8" thick with over 100 black and white and colored photos and illustrations and 17 colored maps.
