48" Victorian Complete Watch Chain And Slide Gold

We are pleased to offer for auction this wonderful 19^th century complete long watch chain with original slide and hook. This is such a fine example. Minor wear on links here and there. Not noticeable but mentioned to be upfront. The slide works perfectly as does the hook- which functions by a screwing mechanism. We never see these early chains so untouched and in such great condition.

The slide features both black enamel and two tiny seed pearls. The chain itself is a series of handmade interlocking links. The necklace is unmarked but test electronically as 10KT both on the chain and hook. The slide however tests as 12KT gold. Most of the time the slides were slightly higher karat than the chains. These necklaces are getting to be exceedingly difficult to come by.

48” Long x 3.5MM. Slide is 22MM x 20MM. Weighs 27.4G

 This piece is in great condition. We have left this in untouched condition. We do not try to over clean our goods as some collectors want untouched patina.
