Borrelli uses more hand work than any of the ready to wear suit-makers I have seen, including Kiton.

Tons of hand work, even the straight seams are topstitched by hand.

Up to 30 hours of hand work, only on the lapel there is close to 2000 stitches, hand made button holes, etc. The signature lining is cupro bemberg.

•    In the last step of a breast-pocket processing Borrelli´s clever workers pair the cloth with the left front side of the jacket, following its bit rounded shape. A pocket is rested and stitched by hand only, according to the most strict Neapolitan sartorial tradition. It is an exclusive of Borrelli´s jackets.
•   Sgavagliatura"is the processing step before placing a collar on a jacket and it is made through a special toil called "pezz e cas" Shoulder, shoulder-pad and sleeve is closed tight and perfectly shaped by tailors´ skilled hands.
•   It takes Borrelli´s workers about 3 hours just to give the finishing touch to the suit inside lining.
•   A Borrelli´s exclusive are "pieces a martello", fasten together through hand embroidered tabs. Over 200 knots on a piping made of cotton fibre are necessary to embroider a buttonhole. The button sewing means tailor´s work is at the end. It is made with a particular three point stitch, called "a zampa di gallina", according to the old Borrelli´s sartorial tradition.
•   Ironing needs ca. 2 hours each jacket. Before being ironed every jacket is moisten with a special pad and than left vaporizing. "
