This A134 replacement for the Eveready E134N is an unusual battery typically used in industrial applications. It is a cylindrical battery with flat contacts at each end.

The A134 is a mercury-free replacement for the once popular Mercuric Oxide Eveready E134N (or Mallory TR134R) battery. Mercury cells are now banned because of toxicity and environmental fears.

This A134 replacement for the Eveready E134N is alkaline and produces 6.0 Volts, which is higher than the 5.6V produced by the original mercury version. Most devices accommodate the small increase in voltage and function perfectly.

This A134 replacement for the Eveready E134N battery is used Pioneer Electric and Research Corp portable tachometers such as the Pioneer Photo-Tach Model 36
