A Note on Image Quality:
The quality of historic images are subject to the capabilities of the original photographer and the limitations of photo technology prevalent during the time-period in which it was taken. Some historic images are very sharp and clear, while others may be blurred, cloudy, or over/under exposed. Many historical images were originally produced on glass plate negatives, giving some a scratched, spotted or crackled appearance if the plate was damaged.
Please note that we do not attempt to fix, enhance or disturb the original image, as we feel these eccentricities add to it's historic charm. Thanks for taking this into consideration before making your purchase.

FAQ:
How do I know your image description is accurate?
We strive to make our photo descriptions as accurate as possible. Descriptions are taken directly from the U.S. Library of Congress or National Archives (where applicable). In many cases, these institutions hold the original photo and state exactly what the original photographer ascribed to the image. Therefore, we use these institutions as our standard of authority on all applicable image descriptions. We are not responsible for errors and we will not participate in disputes. Should you have a dispute, please contact the Library of Congress or National Archives directly.
Be sure to review the image carefully and be certain of your purchase BEFORE you bid, as no refunds will be issued on the basis of disputes in photo content. If you are in doubt as to the accuracy of the description - JUST DON'T BID. Thank you.
When can I expect my package?
Items are delivered via USPS First Class mail (2-5 business days) with no longer than one (1) day handling time. Your item should not be considered untimely unless it has not been delivered after one full week from your payment date. Please consider weekends and holidays when anticipating your package arrival date as well.
Is your transit packaging secure?
Great care will be taken to ensure that your item arrives in excellent condition. Prints are shipped flat on cardboard or, for posters or maps, rolled in a crush-resistant tube. We have shipped thousands of prints in this manner and found it to be very reliable. Because of this, we have every reason to believe our packaging methods are superior and can not be responsible for variables outside of our control (postal handlers and carriers, etc.). For maximum protection, shipping insurance is offered and recommended for an additional $2.00.
How long do I have to pay?
Payment is expected within (7) seven days. This 7 day period may be used to acquire multiple items for the multiple item shipping discount. If 7 days is insufficient, please submit your payment and we will hold your shipment until you have acquired all your desired purchases. The multiple item discount will be applied on all items shipped together.
Should a payment issue arise, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE to contact us. We are happy to work with you! We WILL leave negative feedback for non-paying buyers.
Do you offer a multiple-item shipping discount?
Yes. When you "Buy it Now" from our eBay store inventory, shipping will be applied only to your first item -- all additional items ship will be shipped for free. IMPORTANT: This offer applies to store-inventory "Buy it Now" items ONLY and may NOT be used in conjunction with auction-style listings or auction-style listings ended early with "Buy it Now". This discount only applies on items that can be shipped together.
For details on our auction-style multiple item shipping discount, please refer to the terms in our auction-style ads. When purchasing multiple items with varying shipping costs, the highest shipping cost will be considered your first item. Please request an invoice if you've purchased both auction-style and "Buy it Now" items. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
What do the shipping charges cover?
The shipping costs associated with this item cover:
- Shipping your package
- Shipping materials such as tubes, envelopes, paper, cardboard, etc.
- Selling costs such as insertion fees, final value fees, and electronic payment fees.
- Transportation costs (applied to international sales only)
Unfortunately eBay doesn't allow us to sell on their site for free, which means a higher overall cost to the buyer. However, we can lower these cost by avoiding double jeopardy; that is, paying fees on fees, translating to an even higher buying price. Please don't hesitate to contact us for a detailed explanation of this, and thank you for your consideration of this matter before placing your bid.
If I contact you, will it take a long time for a reply?
Absolutely not! You can always expect a reply within a few hours. If you have not heard a reply, please write again. We’ve found that eBay’s messaging system is far from 100% reliable, and we might not have received your message. If you continue experiencing contact issues, please e-mail us directly at service@victoriaheilshorn.com.
What is your return policy?
We will happily exchange any defective or problematic merchandise. However, cash refunds are not allowed, as your bid is a COMMITMENT to buy according to eBay policy. Therefore, please be confident of your desire for items BEFORE you bid. Also, this return policy does NOT cover damage sustained during the shipping process, as this is beyond our control. It is the buyer's responsibility to purchase shipping insurance -- again, SHIPPING INSURANCE IS RECOMMENDED. We ask that you please contact us with any potential issue BEFORE leaving negative feedback, as we are committed to your 100% satisfaction and feel any problem can easily be resolved.
