To determine a gem's clarity grade, it must be examined under 10x magnification. Whatever tiny inclusions there may be, make Every Gem Unique---it took 100s of MILLIONS of YEARS for the creation of NATURAL GEMS---thus, any inclusions are Nature's Fingerprints, making NO TWO GEMS ALIKE! In most cases inclusions do not mar the gem's beauty, nor endanger its durability. Without high magnification these inclusions are invisible. However, the fewer the inclusions the rarer the gem. Generally, if a gem is SI-2 or above, it is flawless to the naked eye. If any tiny inclusions are visible to the unaided eye, the gem is usually graded I-1.
