These relays have a variety
of uses in the automotive realm. Many
Car Stereo shops use them when installing
alarms and stereos into customer vehicles,
They are used to honk the horn, lock and
unlock the doors, pop the trunk and doors,
flash outside and interior lights, turn
on radios and so many other things. Just
about anything that needs to be controlled
by the remote gets one of these added
in during installation.
When
doing a stereo installation, many high
end shops use these for remote turn on
and accessory. Sometimes
they need to reverse polarity and take
a negative signal and make it a positive
signal. This can easily be done with a
single relay! Or they are installing fog
lights or a wench that draws high amperage,
it is best to use a negative signal from
the switch to a relay which then will
trigger the device and provide power to
the unit.
