An absolutely amazing piece of Southern States/Confederate Currency.  Although this item note was corner cancelled, it has no folds or pin holes.  This is the first time we have handled this note and we are all very delighted with the condition of this particular piece.  Signatures are still sharp and the notes overall appearance is exceptional.  A very interesting stamp on the reverse of the note *see enlarge picture*

This note states, "Will pay to the bearer FIVE DOLLARS redemmable in eight per cent STate Bonds or Species, Six months after the treaty of peace or when The Banks of Savannah and Augusta resume Specie payments if before that time.

Payments

All payments must be received within 5 business days of auction's closing date.  After this point it is at our discretion to cancel the sale or to wait a bit longer.  We are not a finance company, so please don't ask us to wait out market conditions before you pay us.

ATTENTION OHIO RESIDENTS!!!

Due to Ohio's absolutely stupid tax system, we currently will accept bids only for in-store pickup.  Ohio legislators have made it extremely difficult for online sales because the sales tax must be applied to the specific area that the item is being shipped to.  There are over 50 different counties in Ohio and just about all of them have a different sales tax rate.  If you are an Ohio resident, please call and write your congressman/woman that they need to get their collective heads out of their !#*es and make common sense legislation!  If you so desire to have your item shipped, you must wait until we can figure out your tax rate and then we will ADD to you invoice the total amount due.  Did you know that Ohio law requires that we charge extra tax onto the "Shipping and Handling" too!!!  We are currently passing out petitions protesting this very stupid law.  This only applies to those individuals who live within the State of Ohio....This is a prime example of why Ohio is ranked number 49th in economic growth!  They just don't have a clue how business works!

Shipping

Flat rate of $5.95, this includes insurance and extra packaging (we know you want your item to arrive safe and sound).  Multiple items may be combined for one shipping charge at a discount, so long as the items are within a couple of days of each other.  We do not skimp on shipping.  You will not receive your item in a standard size envelope with just first class postage attached!
