For sale here are the technical drawings to build this engine. Basic machining equipment is required. If you are looking for a kit or the finished engine, please see my Ebay store items.
This is a new design that I am very excited about. It is nicknamed "The Windmill" and is an exceptionally beautiful and unique engine. It is machined from brass and aluminum bar stock. The engine uses five 1/4" single acting pistons with 1/2" strokes. The "wobble" style valving means that every cylinder is in a constant oscillating motion while running. This means lots of external motion and makes the engine very fascinating to watch. The main shaft runs in ball bearings. This design is completely self starting and, if built well, only 5 psi of pressure is required. In fact, I can run it a few turns with my lungs by blowing into the intake. The diameter around the outside of the five cylinders is four inches and the flywheel is 2.25" in diameter.
Building it-
The Liney-5 is a perfect project for someone with a CNC mill. Don't let that stop you though. It can be built with manual equipment as well. The freedom to alter the shape of the frame leaves lots of room for creativity and customization. I would rate this as an intermediate level difficulty project. If you do not have CNC, a rotary table will be important. With these schematics you can build a 2,3,4, or 5 cylinder version.
These designs are CAD drawn with clear easy to read dimensions. Please bear in mind that these are schematic drawings not machining how-to instructions. There are often many viable approaches to making a part. That challenge is left up to you.
I also offer a kit for this engine. If you order a kit, you will recieve the schematic drawings as well as all the hardware and materials you need to to build a complete running engine. This includes any needed machine screws, pins, ball bearings, clips and washers. The machine screws included are not the cheap kind you see in most hardware stores. They are high quality fasteners made of stainless steel. All metal will be saw cut from new stock. Please see my Ebay Store for the kit.
