Arundinaria-amabilis, "Tonkin Cane", "Teastick Bamboo" (aka Pseudosasa amabilis) is a beautiful, erect growing bamboo widely known for its high quality wood. It is a hardy running bamboo with numerous branches at each node and persistant culm sheaths. It is the source of wood for the famous split bamboo flyrods of "Tonkin Bamboo". It has large, bright green leaves on short erect growing branches. A native of a limited mountainous area in Southern China, it has grown to a confirmed height of 50 feet with a 2 1/2 inch diameter in the coastal areas of the Southeast. This makes a good screen bamboo. It prefers full sun and is cold hardy to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a "Mature" 5 gallon size plant (Not a Seedling) with well-developed roots. Plants are trimmed at top to 3-4 ft. for shipping. Plants are shipped by UPS Ground with the rootball and some soil wrapped in a wetpack. Thanks for looking!!!
