Mulberry paper or “Sar” is a kind of paper which is made from natural fiber of the mulberry plant. It is durable and attractive because it is a handmade paper with natural style. There are many colors and designs which is special and different from general papers. Mulberry paper is very popular for creative handiworks which are well known in Thailand and foreign countries such as card, beautiful box, notebook etc.

These Mulberry papers are produced neatly. There are a lot of colors and designs of papers (not less than 45 colors and designs) as shown in picture. How to make bamboo lamp

 

 

1. Prepare 100 pieces of bamboo strips which cut into the same length and 5 mm width.

 

2. Put down 30 pieces of bamboo strips. Leave in the same direction and space.

 

3. Lace one of the strips crosswise over and under the vertical line as show in the picture.

 

4. For convenience, you can put a steel bar on the bamboo strips.

 

5. Insert another strip across the vertical line but lace over and under the vertical line different from the previous one.

 

6. Repeat step 5 until it is big enough. Arrange each strip close together. Now it is a big bamboo woven sheet.

 

7. Roll it up into cylinder shape. Then stick it with glue or weave an edge together.

 

8. Just roll it with a multicolor paper, e.g. mulberry paper; you will get an Asian style bamboo lamp which is beautiful and attractive in oriental style. You can change a color of light by using different color and design of paper.
