You need to have a natural gas source (not propane) to create the flame. The glass does not actually burn, so it will last forever!

Package contains 50 lbs total (enough to fill the average fireplace):

50 lbs high-quality fire-glass X-LARGE (~1/4"-1/2") PIECES (slight aqua tint)

To calculate how many lbs glass you need:
1) measure the width across the center of the firebox (in inches)
2) multiply the result times the depth from the front to the back
3) divide the result by 20.5
4) multiply the result by the number of inches high you would like the glass (which should be at least enough to cover the top of your burner.)

For Fire Pits:
1) Divide the diameter (inches) by 2.
2) Square the result.
3) Multiply the result by 0.15.
4) Multiply the result by the number of inches deep.
