Ladies and Gentlemen, for your Consideration is this late 1950's early 1960's Kay (Truetone Brand sold through Western Auto Stores) Speed Demon Triple Pickup Electric Guitar! SEE PICTURES! It is a Project Guitar but one I think well worth the time and effort. Especially, since I have pretty well purchased most all the needed parts which include a (new) Period tail piece, Original period bridge, pickup selector switch and Nut. The pickguard is not present! I just do not have the time to bring ths guitar back to it's glory day but I did assemble all parts for the pictures and most important to see if the pickups works. Best I can tell, all three work using the selector switch even though I do not have it attached in the proper position. There are three locations where the pickup volumes change so I assume they all work. Certainly strong and loud! Here is the scoop pertaining to the project part!!! At some point, someone put silver tape along all the binding both body and neck. I have been able to remove some but still a lot to go! The reinforced neck appears to be straight. There are NO MAJOR chips or cracks to be found that I can see! The Volume and Tone Knobs have oxidation on the silver inserts so they will need to be cleaned and painted or Replaced. One pickup screw is missing but should be an easy find. I still have the Original tail piece with oxidation and will ship with the guitar even though the new period reproduction looks great! The tuning keys are Kluson type and Original to this guitar. Plus, the appear to hold in tune just fine! So, there you have it!!! All in All, this guitar should clean pretty well with Elbow Grease, Time and Effort! I will ship this guitar in an old canvas soft guitar case and box well. With all being said as accurate as I know, this guitar is being sold in "AS IS" Condition with No Warranties! Payment must be made with PayPal and Received within 3 days of the auctions close. Insured Shipping and Handling will be at a flat rate of $30.00 East of the Mississippi and $35.00 West of the Mississippi.
