Matchbox 51A Albion Chieftan 'Portland Cement' Resto Decal Set - 1st Issue style

One pair 'Portland Cement' decal set - Issued on 1st series only, 51A1

This listing is for one set of reproduction waterslide decals for your Matchbox 51A Albion Chieftan. This set consists of 2 door decals with 'Blue Circle Portland Cement' and 2 side decals with 'Portland Cement'. This resto set is correct for the 1st issue of the 51A, the 51A1 (using Charlie Mack's book). We also stock the 2nd and final variation of this decal that fits the last 4 issues of this model, 51A2, 51A3, 51A4 and 51A5.
This restoration decal may differ from the original in color and material since it's made with modern materials. This is a waterslide decal printed with blue ink on a clear backing using an Alps MD-5500 printer with Micro-Dry ink. First a layer of white is printed on the clear backing, then the color, then a protective coat. Please see below for application.

Application:
1. Carefully trim decal to words. For best results use SHARP scissors or a new blade in your knife. PLEASE NOTE: The circle decals for the doors are very small and must be trimmed very close to the ink to fit on the doors. For best results hold the trimmed decal in water between your thumb and forefinger, once loose on backing use the friction of your thumb and forefinger to separate the decal from the backing, leaving the decal upside down on your forefinger. Then carefully 'push' the decal onto the door and daub excess water.
2. Place in water until loose on backing, but not so long that it floats off. Maybe 45 - 60 seconds or so.
3. Once loose on backing, remove from water and gently slide one edge of decal off backing.
4. Hold the loose edge on model with a finger, carefully pull backing away, laying decal on model as you go.
5. Using a dry paper towel, carefully daub excess water and air bubbles from decal/model. But be careful, the decal is still wet and easy to move out of position. If this happens, dob a little water on/around decal and gently move back into position.
6. Let dry for 2-6 hours.
