This is a Stieff sterling silver flatware set in their beauitful repousse Corsage pattern. The set is beautifully deocrated with repousse flowers that are very similar to the Stieff Baltimore Rose pattern. It is absolutely stunning and detailed. Even one of the serving spoons is further decorated with three beautiful strawberries (Please see pictures). The entire set wieghs nicely at 86.8 ounces (2461 grams). The sterling silver weight of this set excluding the stainless containing blades is about 71 ounces (Estimating 0.5 ounces for the handle of each stainless steel containing item). The silver melt value of this set is about 1053 dollars (based on silver trade value at 17.6 dollars per troy ounce on Friday October 23 2009). But the value of the set itself is much much higher than this melt value. The set is in great condition. There are NO monograms on any of the pieces. 5 of the tea spoons are still in their original sealed covered. There are NO dents/dings. There are some very minor surface scratches. The storage box is in great condition. Each piece is fully hallamrked as "Stieff" & "Sterling". The set includes 58 pieces as follows: 1) Eight 6" salad forks for a total weight of ounces (286 grams). 2) Eight 7.1" dinner forks for a total weight of ounces (454 grams). 3) Eight 9" dinner knives for a total weight of ounces (494 grams). Please note that the handle is sterling silver while the blade is stainless steel. Thus only 0.5 ounces per item was used to estimate the total silver content and melt value of the set.4) Ten 4.25" small sugar spoons for a total weight of ounces (160 grams). 5) Fifteen 6" tea spoons for a total weight of ounces (513 grams). 6) One 6.5" ladde for a total weight of ounces (64 grams). 7) One 6.1" serving spoon for a total weight of ounces (34 grams). 8) One 6.1" pickel fork for a total weight of ounces (24 grams). 9) One 7" master butter spreader for a total weight of ounces (48 grams). 10) One 7.25" master meat fork server for a total weight of ounces (74 grams). 11) One 8" serving spoon for a total weight of ounces (70 grams). 12) One 7.25" serving spoon for a total weight of ounces (66 grams). 13) One 8" bon bon serving spoon for a total weight of ounces (90 grams). 14) One 10" master fish knife for a total weight of ounces (84 grams). Please note that the handle is sterling silver while the blade is stainless steel. Thus only 0.5 ounces per item was used to estimate the total silver content and melt value of the set.
Please note that these items are antiques and the buyer must understand and expect a certain amount of wear and scratches due to the use over the years. I am auctioning a lot of my silver items from my own collection over the next week. Please check out my other items. If you have any questions about this set please don't hesitate to ask me questions. I answer each question in a timely manner. Good luck and happy bidding. Please note: I am also a buyer on eBay and absolutely understand the frustration that buyers go through when the seller overcharges them on shipping. The buyer will pay the exact shipping charges and nothing more. I will combine multiple items in order to save you money on shipping charges
