This is a Villeroy & Boch .5L etched stein with an inlaid lid. I believe it was made circa 1908. I found information it was designed by Otto Hupp but is not signed.
The design is etched with organ tubes and a musical score with a song. The song reads WO MAN SINGT DA LASS DICH NIEDER, BOESE MENSCHEN HABEN KEINE LIEDER. The inlaid lid also has an etched design appearing to be a hot air balloon circled by a reith.
It has the imprinted abby mark, imprinted Mettlach with a VB mark under, imprinted GES.GESCH., imprinted 2097, imprinted 2 and roman numeral two, imprinted 03, and a stamped Villroy & Bach winged mark. I will try to show this in my pictures.
The condition is great. I hate to use the word mint but this is very close. No cracks, chips, breaks or repairs, even the gold looks perfect.
Please ask me any questions you may have and I will glad to answer.
