SENSUS 5LB DENSITY QUEEN SIZE MEMORY FOAM PAD/TOPPER

3" X 60"X 80"

(Includes a zippered cotton cover)

FACTS ABOUT E-BAY MEMORY FOAM SCAMS TO WATCH OUT FOR !

FACT # 1. ALL of the auctions running using numbers like 2.5, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0 without SPECIFICALLY identifying this number as density are simply MISREPRESENTATIONS. These numbers are just super imposed over pictures and mentioned in auctions but DO NOT describe density, thickness or anything else. It is simply the placing of a totally IRRELEVANT number on a picture to mis-lead the unsuspecting buyer that this refers to density.

FACT # 2. MANY other auctions use these numbers but are basing the density on TWO cubic feet which is NOT the industry standard. (This is something they have made up to SCAM YOU !! ). The industry standard is 1 cubic foot. For example this means buying a 5lb foam pad using the phony 2 cubic method means you are ACTUALLY buying 2 1/2 lb density foam.

FACT # 3. NEARLY HALF of the E-bay stores and 3/4 of the listings are being run by ONE person claiming to be all of these different operations operating out of Tennessee, Mississippi and other fictitious locations. Why all the secrecy ? They must have something to hide. ( Like the truth.). It doesn't matter from which one you buy, they are ALL the same user using different user id's having these items DROP SHIPPED to the customer. These stores each have several hundred listings and it is the same stuff with different supposed "Trade names" and "secret patented" formulas used to trick the buyer into thinking it is something or someone different. They compete against themselves. If you eliminated all the duplicity there would only be 400 listings or so. Not two to three thousand ! This whole scheme is a version of price fixing.

FACT # 4. There are only THREE manufacturers of Visco Memory foams in the entire UNITED STATES which sell directly to the consumer. NONE OF THEM SELL ON EBAY and none of the three sell to distributors. Any seller on EBAY claiming to MAKE their own foam is bold face lying. The truth is it requires a 50 million dollar investment in pouring equipment, storage tanks, mixing vats, pouring heads, conveyors , saws, engineers and chemists to make this stuff. Come on folks think about it. Do you really think these multi-million dollar corporations are going to devalue and mismark there own product lines and "Give the foam away" on E-bay ? If you question this, simply contact the Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA.org ) send them an Email and verify that these things are correct.

FACT # 5. The Chinese made memory foams which are being sold now for unbelievably low prices (despite sellers claims it is made in the U.S. How are you going to prove it ? ) CANNOT EVEN BE MANUFACTURED in the United States for that price much less be retailed for that. We get calls every week from the Chinese merchants wanting us to buy their product in bulk.

It is our understanding from reliable sources who test foam that this Chinese made junk has very little visco elastic properties to it and begins to BREAK down after only two flexes on testing equipment.

TO SUM UP: If the density is not specifically mentioned, beware, you are about to buy the lowest quality and cheapest junk around. If the foam is at a ridiculously low price your are either getting ripped off or its the junk from China. If anyone on E-Bay makes the claim THEY MAKE their own. This is simply a lie.

We hope this information has been helpful to you. We would encourage all other GOOD and HONEST E-bayers to complain to E-Bay's Trust and Safety department as well as the Federal Trade Commission if you have already been ripped off, about to be ripped off or agree with our findings and would like to see the marketplace cleaned up. We can't do it alone. It will take all of us.

MEMORY FOAM 101
What is memory foam? Memory foam has become the household term used to describe the NASA developed space age, visco-elastic, temperature sensitive, body molding foam which has sprung to such popularity. Popular, because it works ! Although designed many years ago by NASA scientists, the benefits of their research have brought millions of consumers worldwide a better night's sleep.

How is memory foam produced? Memory foam is produced when visco-elastic polymers are introduced into the foam product while still in its liquid state prior to being poured into the mold. These polymers or polyols alter the molecular structure of the polyurethane thus giving it it's slow-recovery, temperature sensitive, body molding characteristics.

Is this the same foam NASA uses? Not exactly. In fact unless one were able to view NASA's original specifications drawn up perhaps some 40 years ago, it is virtually impossible to precisely know what formulation they came up with or what density may have been used. We seriously doubt that any visco-elastic foam currently being produced anywhere is exactly the same. Unless a person experiences tremendous G-forces while sleeping or lives in a weightless environment, misleading and ridiculous NASA claims should not be your primary criteria for purchasing visco-elastic memory foam.

So all memory foams are not the same, correct? That is correct. Every manufacturer has it's own recipe ! The product which we sell, is a special formulation in which high-density (5.0 pound) visco-elastic foam with just the right degree of compression makes for the most resilient, high quality and comfortable pad that we know of. Whether buying memory foam or any other type of foam product can be tricky. Tricky because, as you will learn later, there are two factors involved in evaluating the quality, feel and durability of foam. Density and compression. Low-density foam pads are just that. Low density: Not much mass. Not much weight. More air than foam. For example, the foam used to line a computer case or camera bag is firm but yet very lightweight. This foam has been designed for impact not continued support of weight. This foam is high in compression but low in density. This helps to explain why the cheap foam mattress pads purchased at discount houses and department stores usually don't work very well or last very long. They are cheap for a reason. You're buying a lot of hot air.

Compression? What's that? Compression is mainly what determines the firmness of a particular piece of foam. It is the ratio of a foam's ability to support force at different levels. It may also be described as the ILD (Indentation Load Deflection). It is generally measured as the force (in pounds) required to compress a 50-inch indentor foot into a 4-inch thick sample 25% of its overall height. For example,  Tempur-pedic's © memory foam is approximately a 15 ILD. Compression simply determines the degree of firmness of the product.

So what is density? Density is a measurement of the mass per cubic unit volume. It is measured and expressed in pounds per cubic foot (pcf) or kilograms per cubic meter (Kg/m3 ). Density is largely the determining factor in judging the quality of foam products. The lower the density the lower the quality, thus reducing the durability and the life expectancy of the product. However, some foams are densified by loading them. This occurs when some manufacturers "load" their foam with additives such as chalk dust, marble dust, barium sulfate, clay or purified sand from oil field drilling operations. These inorganic materials are added when the foam is in its liquid state. These fillers are not chemically bonded to the polymers; instead, they are mechanically trapped within the molecular structure of the foam. Loaded or filled foams are most always weak in strength and durability. If you've ever owned a sofa or foam mattress, which really flattened out and became dusty and gritty when it broke down, it was most likely loaded foam. Buyers of memory foam pads should be wary of these type products and there are some on the market today. None of the foam products we sell are loaded or filled in any way, we only sell premium first quality.

Is a memory foam mattress topper what I really need? If your existing mattress has broken springs poking through or an extreme sag, a memory foam mattress pad will help but you probably need a new mattress as well. If your mattress is in relatively good shape but just too hard, you're an excellent candidate for one of our 3 inch or 4 inch memory foam mattress toppers. It just may save you the expensive cost of replacing the entire set and give you the best pillow top mattress in town. (for a fraction of the cost).
