"Golden Beauty" (horse)
Nancy Lee Moran
New oil painting of November 2007, varnished
Unique original art to beautify your home, one of a kind (OOAK)
7 x 5 inches art size, framed size of 11 x 9 (Please see photo of 2.5-inch-wide frame corner.)
About this Painting:
Each summer I enjoy seeing the animals at the Nemaha County Fair in southeastern Nebraska, the part of the state near Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. This beautiful horse won many ribbons at the fair. While small in size, the art is an example of my finest painting, with a high degree of delicacy and refinement. It has the same care that I put into my large, costly portraits. It is unique, for your own art collection.
What are benefits of art that you like and choose to buy?
It gives you happy feelings when you see it, brightening your day.
It may bring back memories.
It opens your eyes to beauty around you and reminds you of what is lovely in life.
Its colors soothe or uplift you.
It adds beauty and grace to your home.
It becomes a conversation piece for guests.

Credentials
Many of my paintings are represented by Lewis Art Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska, 1-800-306-7733.
In 1994, I had a solo art show at the Nebraska Governor's Mansion. The Omaha Symphony ASID Interior Designer Showhouses displayed my portraits in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Ducks Unlimited requested art of country children (not of ducks!) to make limited edition regional prints in 1998 and 2000. In 2001 I attended National Convention of American Society of Portrait Artists at the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York City. My art has been featured in the magazine Nebraska Life and has been published by Carpentree Publishing and the Printery House.
Since 1989, my profession has been portrait commissions in oil and pastel.
Since 2007 I have begun to paint small oils using some of the ideas I have gathered over many years.
Some paintings will be inspired by photos I have taken over the years.
Some of them will be life studies, painted without the use of a camera.
(Life studies painted from nature will be offered about two months after the blooming time, to give the oil paint time to cure.)
Romantic Realism
Since 1990, my style has been called Romantic Realism, a kind of painting that emphasizes beauty and themes of optimism and virtue. I know that life has its sad side, too. Before painting I worked as a registered nurse. My sister continues to work as a hospice nurse, in a profession that I admire. My art aims to express the vitality of nature and life.
Signature
I usually sign small artworks NLMoran in a bottom corner. My full signature is too long for some small
paintings, attracting attention away from the image itself.
I will enclose a certificate of authenticity and a paper regarding the care of oil paintings.
Color
Some monitors may alter colors. Some may make the image lighter or darker than it is.
Materials
Gessoed hardboard
I use Winsor & Newton oils from England and Daniel Smith oils from the USA,
only the ones that earn the highest lightfast ratings, along with a small amount
of Liquin alkyd resin for glazing.
I will varnish the painting with satiny (semi-gloss) varnish.
My phone number is 402.274.3040 CST.
I go online twice a day, since I must devote most time to family and paintings.
I request, therefore, your patience in my answering questions online.
Caution: Prolonged sunlight and fluorescent lights may cause colors to fade.
Heat, high humidity, and dampness will also damage fine art.

Please let me explain about copyright and reproduction rights.
Under standard USA law, once a Work of art is created, it is copyrighted.
To reproduce (or copy) it, you must get written permission of the artist.
By the same token, it would be wrong for me to use (as a reference) a photo
taken by another photographer, unless I ask permission and offer to pay for
"use" rights. It would be wrong for me to take a copyrighted photo
(by another photographer) to a store to make a copy of it.
You will be the owner of this unique painting. The artist will continue to own
all other rights of copying the image and using it for other purposes, if she chooses. The artist
is the sole author of the Work and its design.
I know copyright can seem difficult to understand. When I was a new artist, it
seemed complex to me, also.
All rights reserved. All art, wording and photos are protected by copyright law.
Each may only be reproduced with written permission of the artist. Please do
NOT copy any part of this listing.
