This auction is for 6+ Ameraucana hatching eggs. These are true Ameraucanas, standard sized with muffs and tails. They are not tufted or rumpless. The eggs are various shades of green/blue, no “pink” or brown eggs - the brown egg in the picture is just for contrast and is actually from my Delaware hen. This small flock includes five brown-red hens
and one pure white with a silver/red rooster, so you should get a variety of
colors. The roo has a very friendly
personality and the hens have been great layers, even through an Upstate New
York winter (with supplemental light). All
are very healthy and energetic.
The nesting boxes are kept clean and eggs are collected at
least two to three times a day, so they are usually fairly clean. However, I don’t wash hatching eggs, so there may be a minor smudge here and there. If I consider them too dirty I don't ship them and they become dog treats :) The eggs will be collected within two to
three days prior to shipping and I will send a couple of extras in case of any
breakage. They will be packaged securely
and will ship USPS Priority Mail after payment is made. I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. (The mail still moves on the weekends - it just doesn't get delivered on Sundays, so 2-3 day Priority Mail sent on Thursdays or Fridays could potentially sit for an extra day)
Payment must be received promptly so I can ship as soon
as possible. I accept PayPal only. Sorry – no exceptions. If you cannot pay with PayPal please do not
bid. Checks, money orders and e-checks
simply take too long and hatching eggs cannot wait.
I am happy to answer any questions or take additional photos, so please feel free to
contact me before you bid. You can use the "Ask seller a question" link or you can email me directly at jenreed@redbarnmeadows.com
BONUS: I also have a White Crested Black Polish hen
in the same pen with the Ameraucanas.
Her name is Elvira and she is a cutie.
If you would like a Polish/Ameraucana free bonus egg just let me know when you make payment. It could make for an interesting surprise to
see what kind of fluff pops out of that!
Okay, here comes the usual fine print:
My hen to rooster ratio is 7 to 1, so fertility should be
excellent. However, I cannot guarantee
your hatch rate once the eggs have left my hands and entered the postal
system. If they are dropped, x-rayed or
otherwise mishandled by anyone along the way then there is a good chance that
few or even none of the eggs will develop.
That’s just a gamble you have to take with shipped eggs.
Thanks for looking and Happy Hatching!
