FAQ's

• Q. Is the inside window bevel cut ?
• A. Yes.
• Q. Is the outside edge also bevel cut ?
• A. No. Most single head Computerised Mat Cutters, use the bevel cutter to also cut the outside edges. This means, the outside edge will always have a sharp beveled edge. Some buyer resistance for this is noted. Several Industry reported reasons are outlined below.

1. Not considered a "good look ".
2. The sharp beveled outside edges can cause "paper cuts" to the purchasers fingers whilst handling the mats. ( So sharp... you don't feel the cut... but, notice the blood on the front of your mat ! )
3. The external edge, strength and integrity is somewhat compromised. It  makes the edges  inferior and more prone to damage and denting, especially whilst being transported, displayed and handled etc.
4. Insist on, high quality Professional  "square edge " mats !

• Q. What is BlackCore ?
• A. BlackCore matboard has a centre core and a backing paper which is black in colour. When the bevel is cut... you get a nice crisp black bevel... instead of the usual white bevel. Also, they are very effective for framing / mounting black & white photo's and pencil / charcoal sketches etc.
• 
  Q. Do I need a frame to market my works with these bags?
• A. No.
• Q. Will this open up the market to tourists and backpackers who don't want a frame with my artworks?
• A. Yes.
• Q. Will this put an end to potential  buyer resistance to the cheap crappy frames I have been bunging my artworks into in the past?
• A. Yes ! How many times have you heard a potential buyer say "I love your artwork, but I don't like the frame" or " I  don't want to have to take this frame on the Plane with me when I go back home" Sometimes this is a cop out, and sometimes it is true. Now the buyer can choose their own frame at their convenience.
• Q. Will I save money?
• A. Yes... you no longer have to pay for a frame to market your works.
• Q. Will my sales increase?
• A. Yes... they should do, because you will be able to lower your selling price as you no longer have to factor in the price of a frame.
  

• TIPS

  Always try to make your finished product fit within a "standard" frame size. So the end user can purchase a cost effective "off the shelf" frame. eg 8 x 10, 10 x 12 etc.

Self Seal Display bags :

These are a great way to sell or display mounted , but unframed works. They are crystal clear... and actually appear to enhance the look of the item within the bag. For safer shipping, the mounts will be supplied within the bags, but the bags will not be sealed. They are however resealable many times over. A very cost effective and professional way to present artworks etc. without having to bear the expense of framing. These are a reasonably snug fit and do not require any trimming or heat sealing. Just insert your item into the bag (make sure the sealing tape liner is facing the rear) then remove the liner, fold the flap towards the rear, and stick it down.
