about the artist: nicholas yust is a cincinnati ohio native, born in 1978. upon completion of high school nicholas enrolled at the university of cincinnati's school of design art architecture and planning. during the first 2 years of college he studied Fine Art and Art History with an interest in abstract oil pastels and interior architecture. as his passion for math and science grew he transfered from art to engineering, finishing college with a bachelor's degree in materials engineering and a master's degree in metallurgical engineering. his engineering career led him away from art as he interned and worked for the united states air force at wright patterson afb, researching superconductivity and thin film coated conductors. it was at this time that nicholas first experimented with sheets of aluminum, cutting, bending and grinding patterns into them.  as he continued to create wall sculptures he also experimented with freestanding sculptures and developed over a dozen unique grind patterns signature of his work. he also experimented with transparent coatings to allow the unique grind patterns to be seen through a spectrum of colors.  nicholas has had much success selling his work in local, national and canadian galleries.  he has also displayed and sold his work at several art expo's, starbucks, a multitude of online virtual galleries, ebay and his own personal gallery. nicholas continues to spend more time building and creating new sculptures. in 2007 he debuted at the art expo new york with excellent reviews.  during 2007 nicholas continued broadening his capabilities and offerings and currently is expanding his studio from 1200 sq-ft to over 3000 sq-ft to help meet the demand.  besides his traditional work he also did work on several large scale charity projects and commissioned monumental designs for multiple corporations and restaurants.  most of his work comes as custom orders for large-scale abstract metal wall hanging sculptures, free standing sculptures, special interior metal treatments or store signs.  nicholas is currently living in cincinnati and working out of his studio. his work was displayed at the art expo new york 2007 and 2008, his work is currently on display in local, national and international galleries.  to date he has sold thousands of sculptures worldwide.
