The HOUR OF SLACK is a weekly syndicated radio show from the Church of the SubGenius, produced by Rev. Ivan Stang, with a cast of hundreds. Its style, a combination of collage, spoken word, call-ins, and music of the most bulldada and SubGeniusly kinds, has influenced weirdos and electronic artists for 20 years.
The show, currently in its 1010th episode, is heard on a dozen stations in the US and Canada and streamed through many Internet sources. This collection is a particularly GOOOOD starter -- an excellent cross-section of a variety of best SubG audio, in high-quality MP3.
This CDR contains 65 Hours of Slack -- shows from # 888 to #929 in mono MP3; #930 to 952 are in stereo Ogg Vorbis format (requires computer). Show dates: May 2003 to August 2004.
Text logs of exactly what's on each show can be found in our subgenius.com Hour of Slack page.
NOTE: You get so many hours on one disk because they're LOW RESOLUTION compared to our 12-show sets. That is, they sound more like AM radio. At Show #930 we switched from mono MP3 to 22khz stereo OGG for our "lower res" download files. You can, however, convert the OGGs to MP3 or audio CD yourself.
These are the Adult versions of the shows, as heard on the Internet, in Canada and overseas.
