Dave Hayden is highly qualified to produce such a book. What makes his book
so valuable is his grass roots, hands on perspective. He started in the shop,
running a machine. He started in the mid '70s as a machine operator running
a Warner-Swasey 1-SC NC tape lathe. It didn't take him long to see where the
future of machining was going! He studied every NC program he could get his
hands on and asked a lot of questions. Within a few months the shop's only NC
programmer quit. Dave was the only one in the shop that knew how to program
the lathe!
It's been 25 years since he taught himself to be an accomplished NC programmer.
Since then he has attended over 450 hours of specialized training involving
NC/CNC/CAM programming. In 1984 he developed and presented a CNC programming
course called "Fundamentals of CNC Programming." Using the course materials
he provided contract training services to a large machine tool reseller in Denver
Colorado. From the early 1980s on he rose from CNC programmer to Department
Supervisor to Operations Manager of small machine shops. At the same time he
completed his degree in Business Administration and taught part time at the
Denver Branch of National College.
Dave is currently the CAM System Administrator for a mid-sized turbo machinery
manufacturer in western Pennsylvania.
Dave offers a Certificate of Completion, for a fee, at the end of his course.
It's a real Certificate and to get it you have to pass a real Test which he
will send to you. All questions on the test are taken directly from the book.
