70's Space Wars science fiction ART Dune Star Trek Foss

This large format hardcover book is a fictional look at how space travel will be achieved . First published in 1979 this book is the second print of 1980 . The forward is by Chris Foss as are some of the fantastic space craft illustrations . This book refers to all science fiction stories 2001 a Space Odyssey , War of the Worlds , Dune , Star Trek , Starship Troopers , Isaac Asimov books ect... The book has five main chapters Space Vehicles , Interplanetary Wars and Weapons , Fantastic Creatures , Fantasy and Worlds Apart . In the first sentence of the foreword , Chris Foss states " This is a fascinating collection of futuristic visualizations by various artist . "...... 96 pages with virtually every page having a least one superb picture or diagram . The book is large at 245 mm's wide 325 mm's tall and 15 mm's thick . The original dust jacket is tattered and torn ( see photo of me holding tear open ) . The top edge of most pages have a very slight wobble , looks as though some moisture has got to the paper , though absolutely no mould and is hardly noticeable (just visible in photos along top 1" of white blank paper above pictures ) .
