Best Offers that don't stray too far from reality will be considered.
Based
on some of the offers made, many ebayers seem blissfully ignorant, (or maybe in abject denial) of current reality. This is 2008, NOT 1998. I hate to be the bearer of bad news folks, (this affects me too!)
THE U.S. DOLLAR HAS LOST ALMOST HALF IT'S PURCHASING VALUE IN THE PAST DECADE!

Don't blame me - Your thanks should be addressed to the Court Jester posing as our President, GEORGE W. BUSH!
My Buy It Now price is 25% below
what the most recent Price & Value Guides indicate actual voluntary buyer activity to be. I sell quality items, and have spent several years
earning a 100% buyer Feedback rating. Remember what Mom always said?
"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."
When money loses value, the value of things in terms of money, MUST GO UP, and even the most casual observers see the vintage market EXPLODING in 2008.
If my price is SO FAR outside your budget, that you can't even afford a close offer, then look at used Reissue (circuit board) amps, which come pretty close to the original vintage tone of a hand-wired Fender tube amp. :-)

1976 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Amp
Kick out your favorite Vintage Tones, with this upgraded Vintage Tube Amp!
The Vibrolux and Vibrolux Reverb were two of Fender's more popular amps of the 1960's and 1970's, due to their compromise of power and volume, versus size and weight.
Only about two-inches longer and taller than the fabled Deluxe Reverb, here was an amp that delivered almost TRIPLE the volume! Between its 40-45 Watts RMS power rating, and the use of two high-powered CTS or Jensen Speakers, this was only a couple of steps below the volume delivery of a Twin Reverb, or Dual Showman!

The Vibrolux, at 47.5 Lbs, is no featherweight, but is still close to 30 Lbs lighter than a Twin Reverb!
And best of all, the tone is pure Vintage Tube Fender!!
I've owned this amp for about 8 years, and in that time, have used it for a few club gigs. This is more suitable for a blues player than a Surf-Music guitarist like me. It's VERY loud, which is a good thing, the volume coming on very strong at "2" and above! At "3" and higher, the overdrive becomes more and more noticeable - Perfect for Blues, but not for Surf, I'm afraid. The overdrive is natural, clean tube overdrive, the kind that works perfectly for blues lead and rhythm guitar. It's a 1960's-style tone, and volume that allows the lead guitar to cut through the band, without resorting to Boost Pedals, and other foofaraw that alters and distorts the natural tone of the amp.
Because this amp was a serious musical investment, I upgraded it with cost being no object. First, the Fender-label CTS speakers were shot and worn-out. I replaced them with brand-new Jensen C10Q speakers, my favorite speaker next to JBL.
The tubes left a bit to be desired, being old and worn-out Chinese el-cheapos. I invested in a pair of Groove Tubes 6L6-GE MATCHED-BIAS power tubes. The transformer was on its way out, so I had my amp tech install a Hammond variable ohm unit, with a rotary knob on the amp's back panel allowing the amp to be switched between 2-4-8 ohm speakers, with no worries about damage to the circuitry.
Don't spend $1,200++ on a Reissue! The Reissue amps are nice, and sound good, but, the circuitry is cheapened because connections are via printed circuit board. THIS '81 Vibrolux Reverb was made the ld-shool way, with 100% Point-to-Point HAND WIRING! It DOES make a difference, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!
My Buy It Now price takes all the foregoing into account, and is a very fair figure for what you're getting - a factory Hand-Wired Vintage Tube combo amp that has been upgraded and set up to perform to standards that 95% of the amps listed on ebay would NOT meet.
