History: Tabriz

Tabriz is the capital of Azarbaijan province and one of the major trade centers in Iran. Tabriz is located about 600 KM North West of Tehran and is surrounded by Iraq to the west, Turkey to the north west and Azarbaijan to the north.

The exceptional quality of the carpets made in Tabriz easily entitle it as a carpet capital of the world.

The long history of the town has had affect on one of the principal products of Fabriz - carpets. They are characterizsed by many unique designs in which one can see elements are blends of many cultures. Although, the rpimary design of the carpets is filled with dence floral motifs, one can also find an abundance of geopmetric forms. The primary colors are usually dark shades of Black, Navy Blue, Red, Ivory, Cream, Tan, and Green.
