8' Bud Gardner Surfboards "Gidget" Model -- Item # 02

This is one of the last  3 "Gidget" Model surfboards that will be made.  It is one of the last  3 "Gidget" Model blanks made with superior Clark Foam before Clark Foam went out of business.  It has a special custom ordered rocker in the nose and tail.  It has a 1/2" Balsawood stringer with red glue lines.  A custom blank like this cannot be duplicated by other foam companies.  Sorry all you Wahini surf riders out there, but when these 2 are gone, they are all gone!

A special treat, also included with this Bud Gardner "Gidget" Model surfboard is a DVD of Bud shaping, numbering, and signing the finished shaped board.  Watch Bud shape your "Gidget" board.  This DVD will be part of Bud's "How I Did It" videos that will be released to the public in the near future.  Winning bidder gets the first unreleased copy.

The "Gidget" Model is designed for surfer girls.  It's like what the big guys ride except it's shorter, thinner, and narrower, eliminating the fat flotation that surfer girls don't need, thus making it an easier riding and more maneuverable surfboard.  It is 8' long, 21 1/2" wide, 18" nose, 2 1/2" thick, 13 1/2" hips.  It has a 4 1/2" square tail.  It is shaped with 50/50 Egg Rails with extra kick in the nose and in the tail.  It has a 1/2" Balsawood center stringer with red glue lines with a Spruce and Redwood tail block.  It has fiberglass protective bumper beads that virtually eliminates nose and tail dings.  Red Resin Pinlines border the curvy pink color design.  It's laminated with two layer of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the deck, one layer of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the bottom.
