A set of 80 of these plastic bobbins! The thread and Kumihimo supplies shown in the pictures are examples of their use.
I wish I had invented these! Your answer as to what to do with a length of loose yarn, thread, cord, or other weaving materials. Have you ever opened a length of yarn, taken off some, and now you have a loose bunch of cord? Here's the answer - wind a 5-10 yard length around these ingenious bobbins; you just bend up the plastic lip, wind the cord, then bend down the lip and you have a clean, handy length of cord ready to pull out as needed.
For Kumihimo disks this is the answer! As you can see in the picture below, all of the cords associated with Kumihimo braiding on the disks are neatly separated. As you weave, you just pull out a bit more cord, and away you go.
If you have the introductory Kumihimo kit from us, it already comes with a set of 8 of these. When you're ready to expand to 16 strand braids, which are as easy to do with the disk as 8, you'll need more of these bobbins. Or, if you have just the disk, you've probably already found out how inconvenient it is to manage your braiding cord. Here is the answer!
Another handy feature: these snap together to form a column, so if you are storing cord, you have a neat way to organize colors or sizes. These measure about 1 7/8 inches in diameter, and provide just the right tension. Keep them handy, you'll be reaching for them often.
Here is another view of one of the bobbins, and a picture of them being used with the KumiLoom Kumihimo disk:
