We have decided to clean out and sell our excess stock of over 8000 small to medium cost affective maps, prints & woodcuts to text from the 16th to the 19th centuries. These are very saleable items that we do not currently have time to sell. This is an ideal opportunity for an existing business to expand their stock or for someone interested in starting a new business to acquire a lot of good solid stock cheaply.
These items sell conservatively between $25US to $125US retail, we are asking for the lot $250,0000US or approx $30US per item (plus GST for all Australian buyers). As the asking price per item is an average we cannot single out items for sale but we are willing to split into 2 x 4000 lots or 4 x 2000 lots at a slightly higher price per item to be negotiated.
The items are varied and many and more in-depth spreadsheet and word documents are available on request. The overview is;
955 x Sebastian Munster single page leaves with small woodcuts to text from the 1574, 1598 & 1628 editions of Cosmographia.
23 x 17th century maps and prints
730 x 18th century maps from all parts of the world.
1150 x 18th century prints from all parts of the world.
1590 x 19th century maps from all parts of the world.
3590 x 19th century prints from all parts of the world.
Of these 8000 plus items over 1300 are currently listed on Ebay. The spreadsheet supplied list’s these with links to the Ebay auctions. The rest of the stock not listed on Ebay is broken down by region & date in the word document.
The condition is as we received them; some will require cleaning and some small repairs. On the whole though the majority are in very good condition.
If it is the desire of the purchaser to setup an online business I will make myself available as a consultant to help with the initial setup of the business. Our experience can help with many of the complexities that come with online trading. I have included a number of images to show a cross section of the inventory
As a collector & dealer I have been involved with Antiquarian Maps & Prints for over 25 years. We recognised the potential of the internet as a retail and marketing outlet for Antiquarian Maps, Prints & Books and in 2000 became one of the first serious web based dealers with the establishment of Classical Images. At the same time we also recognised the potential of Ebay as a complimentary online marketing tool. We are today one of the biggest and most prolific online sellers of Antiquarian Maps, Prints & Books on the Internet.
