I might consider selling it for less that's why there is a best offer option but as you well know it's all about timing and if you snooze you may loose. I have been getting a lot of emails and requests for some Cincinnati Bengal Rings. This week I offer an Authentic 1988 Cincinnati Bengals AFC Championship Jostens Salesman Sample 10K Gold Ring.


This is a 200 % Authentic Real Salesman Sample Ring. The word "salesman sample" really gets over used in the hobby of Championship Rings as of late. For the record a Real Authentic Salesman Sample Ring is a Ring cast from the SAME die cut molds as the Real player's rings by the Same Maker of the Real Players Rings. Too many plain fakes, copies and replica and knock off rings get called salesman samples and they are NOT. You can't call a ring that someone in another country copies and makes hundreds of them and call them a "salesman sample ring". They are fakes plain and simple. There is a difference between a Real Manufacture Sample and a knock off trust me.


This Very Rare REAL Salesman Sample Ring I have for sale was made by the same company that made all of the player rings. This company was the Jostens Ring Company. I had obtained this ring along with 2 other Jostens Real Salesman Sample Rings and of these 3 rings one of the rings (1986 Giants SB Ring) had the Jostens original markings, one ring (1991 Bulls NBA) had the markings chiseled off but you could still see where the markings were and the 3rd ring had the markings completely buffed out of the inside of the ring. This Bengals Ring was the one ring with the markings completely buffed out of the inside of the ring. Usually you can tell fake samples from real samples as the detailing on the fakes usually aren't that crisp and clean. There are NO known Fake 1988 Bengals AFC Rings on the market today as there is not a big demand for it. Usually the winners or the Super Bowl Champs Rings are copied and faked rarely are the Conference Rings copied. So it's pretty easy to determine that this is an original Jostens Sample Ring. I had a Real set of the 1988 and 1981 Bengals AFC Championship Rings that I sold on ebay 2 years ago so I know what the real Rings look like. They are also pictured in the ad to show you how large the 1988 and 1981 Bengals Rings are compared to other rings.


Keep in mind this Sample Ring would be EXACTLY like the Ring that Coach Sam Wyche would own except his would have Real diamonds on it and this real sample ring has CZs. Other than that the ring was made from the same die cut mold as their rings were made all made by Jostens.



This Rare Ring is a size 11 1/2 and weighs in at a Very Heavy 39.3 grams of 10K. Even though Inside of the ring is completely buffed out and the original Jostens "Proper Manufacture Markings" were buffed out the ring is 10K Gold. I have had my jeweler test it and it is 10K Gold so it can be resized if necessary. You can kind of tell if a ring is real gold or not by the look and feel and the weight of the ring but if all else fails just have a jeweler test it to make sure. That's what I did.



What makes this1988 Ring especially Rare and Valuable is that this is the ONLY Conference Ring ever produced that was actually Larger than the Super Bowl Winners Ring. This Ring is Larger than the 1988 San Francisco Ring. I have shown both rings side by side so you can see the size comparison. This 88 AFC Ring is also the LARGEST Conference Ring ever made along with the 1995 Pittsburgh Steelers Ring. Both of these rings were made very similar and both made by Jostens. Both Rings are overall the same size and nearly identical Rings except the Bengals Rings has antiquing on the ring (black coating to make the detail stand out) the Steelers just had a natural gold finish. I had one of these Steelers Rings too and you can see how it compared to the 88 49ers Ring. In case you were wondering in 1995 The Steelers Ring be it as large as it is was still smaller than the 1995 Dallas Super Bowl Champs Ring. The 95 Dallas Ring for a while was the Largest Super Bowl Ring out there up until the Pats starting putting out their rings. With the Bengals coming within 34 seconds of winning the Super Bowl might be the reason why they wanted a LARGE Ring. Usually the Conference ring can't be bigger than the Winners ring but in this case it is. Get this ring now who knows when the Bengals will be in the position to win it all again in the near future.
