WE ARE OFFERING FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: 8-pc Salesman Sample Logging Tool Case – Oshkosh (Leach). This 26x14x4 wood box has 8 miniature logging tools that were manufactured for Oshkosh Tool Company by Leach Company of Oshkosh probably in the 1930’s. The box exterior is in used but very sturdy condition, while the interior and tools are in pristine condition (each tool held in place with elastic stapled to the wood). The pieces include a 23” wood extension ladder, a 17” post hold digger, 8” cant hook, 8” tramp bar, 15” curved tramp bar, 11” Eastern spoon shovel, 11” Western spoon shovel, and 11” shovel.
Leach Company began in 1887 as the Oshkosh Logging Tool Company. The primary product was logging tools for the popular heavy woodworking industry in the Oshkosh area. For the first thirty years, the Leach Company continued to manufacture logging tools as well as expand their market into farm equipment and woodworking tools. In 1932, Leach Company started the manufacture of refuse collection equipment and initiated the nationwide sale of professionally manufactured refuse collection equipment. Oshkosh Tool Company, (not part of Leach) still operates in the Oshkosh area, manufacturing a high quality line of handcrafted tools for loggers, linemen and utility workers.
