| For auction is an outstanding 9' Concert Grand Piano by the Wm. Knabe & Co, established in 1837, Baltimore, MD. This piano is the official piano of the Metropolitan Opera since 1926 and is considered the 'Singer's piano', known for it's mellow tone. It has a black laquer finish, D150488, striking brass decoration as can be seen in the pictures. Profesionally appraised in 2002 for $15,000. The piano is from the estate of a former Chicago Opera singer who in later life enjoyed having concerts in her home. She was consistent about having the piano tuned every 6 months to a year throughout her life, although it has not been tuned in the past year. Of all her possessions, it was the one cherished piece which she made sure of was well taken care of. There have been many happy memories formed around this concert grand piano. ELEGANT, ELEGANT, ELEGANT!
