On May 6, 1966, Bud Gardner started building his brand of beautiful surfboards, on May 6, 2009, Bud Gardner started his 44th year of building his brand of beautiful surfboards and in all that time, he has personally shaped and colored each and every one of them. He is one of the last original surfboard builders from the 60's still building superior surfboards and was honored in 2007 by being nominated for Induction into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Surfboard Builders Division for 2008.
9' 1" long, 23" wide, 19" nose, 15 1/2" hips, 3" thick and a 5 3/4" exclusive Bud Gardner noseriding tail, "Ram Spoiler". Laminated with 2 layers of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the deck, 1 layer of 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass on the bottom with a 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass tail patch over the fin box. It is glossed and polished. Built using Superior "Clark Foam" blanks. The most important part of a Bud Gardner Surfboard is the shape because that is what makes them ride so well. It is shaped with a natural rocker in the nose and a slight lift in the tail, concave nose, 50/50 Egg Rails. It has a 1/4" Redwood center stringer with a Redwood and Balsawood laminated tail block.
