Offered for sale is a fine 92 piece service for ten from Royal Cauldon of England (now a member of the Wedgwood Group). This antique pattern has a gold braid or gadroon edging around the rim with brown stampwork. The set is made of pottery and is heavy and high quality. The set consists of:
10 dinner plates 10 1/2 inches across
10 salad plates 8 1/2 inches across
10 bread plates 6 1/8 inches across
11 cream soup bowls 4 1/2 inches across
11 cream soup saucers 6 inches across
10 teacups 3 5/8 inches across
10 saucers 5 3/4 inches across
10 demitasse cups 2 3/4 inches across
10 demitasse saucers 5 inches across
Condition: All pieces are in very good excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The pieces show almsot NO sign of wear with only a few faint utensil marks on a few of the dinner plates to show the set was ever used at all. The gold trim on the rims and on the handles and knobs of the serving place is in like new condition with no wear. About one third of the pieces have fine clear crazing of the glaze as common on old pottery pieces.
These fine pieces are being sold with no reserve and at a low price. This is an elegant set, which would certainly cost at least double elsewhere.
