Long regarded as the definitive reference guide for fan applications, the Fan Engineering Handbook has been updated for the ninth time. It contains fan engineering knowledge that has been accumulated through a century of research, development and experience. The first edition of Fan Engineering was published in 1914 and was edited by Dr. Willis H. Carrier. Dr. Carrier was a pioneer in the design of fan systems and went on to establish the largest air-conditioning manufacturing company in the world. Dr. Carrier developed the first psychrometric chart while heading the Buffalo Forge engineering department. The next four editions were revised and edited by Richard D. Madison, who was the director of engineering at Buffalo Forge until 1949. The last four editions including the ninth were written by Robert Jorgenson,. The current edition contains 914 pages of text covering engineering fundamentals, fan design and applications; and another 158 pages of useful engineering appendices. The entire text has been made available on compact disk. The CD contains a search function with extensive linking and features interactive equations with examples in spreadsheet format.
