This is a wonderful, must have book on meteorites. It took years of active searching in the eighties to find a copy of this book by Mason. This priceless first edition was printed in 1962.  There are 274 pages of text and pictures. The ex-library copy is in good condition, binding and pages are excellent with some small water marking on pages. Some scratches on the back cloth and tape marks on the front cover with the typical library stamps and adhesive marks on the inside cover plates. Some wear and yet still this book is in fine condition. This is a fine book on meteorites and their composition and classification and comes out of the Edwin Thompson collection of books on meteorites, tektites and planetary science. Many of the meteorite scientists working today studied this book in their college years. This collection took thirty years to build and several of the books in this collection can only be found here in this series of collection offerings. Starting today; March 19th, 2009 this world renowned collection will be offered for sale. It will take some time to list over 650 publications and it should be great fun for collectors to see many of these titles offered for the first time in their collecting period.
