ITEM: Up for auction is a Very Rare Early 18thc Chinese Export Imari Decorated Silver Mounted Lidded Side Handled Tankard. The Tankard is part of a Large Collection of Asian Art, and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction as you can see in the last pictures.
The Tankard is part of my Parents Estate and Private Asian Art Collection. We did list some from the collection around 1 year ago, that brought some amazing interest online, and have know decided to list some more nice examples. I do not know a great deal about many of the pieces, but do believe there are some fine examples listed.
The Tankard is one of the nicest period examples we have seen, and I believe a Very Rare find. The Tankard also has nice a Dark Underglazed Cobalt Blue color indicating it is a Rare Early 18thc, or possibly even later 17thc Kangxi period example. The Tankard Also has a nice Early Period Spouted design with a nice Side Handle. The Tankard is also Finely Dutch Silver Mounted, which would have been done in the later 18thc, making it that much more desirable. The Tankard is Beautifullly decorated in the Imari Palette all around. The Tankard is also in fine original condition for its age. I believe the Handle may have been restored at some point, and there is a small glaze flake off the bottom of the spout, but other than that no chips, cracks, or repairs and for its age in very nice condition. The decoratign is also in fine condition showing very little to no wear throughout. The Tankard is also nice and clean inside. The Tankard is also a nice size for display measuring 6 1/2 inches tall, by 4 1/4 inches wide, not including its Handle.
I have no idea what the Very Rare Early 18thc Chinese Export Imari Silver Mounted Lidded Side Handled Tankard would be worth. You Very Rarely see examples this Early come up for auction, and with such a nice early design. As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide. Like a Real Auction should be!! The Very Rare Early 18thc Chinese Export Imari Silver Mounted Lidded Side Handled Tankard would make a great addition to any collection, and is also an excellent investment piece. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE AUCTION!
