Movie description
In A FISH CALLED WANDA, veteran director Charles Crichton and scriptwriter-star John Cleese create a dazzling quilt from various strands of English and American comedy. The plot, in which four disparate characters attempt a daring heist, comes from Ealing caper comedies, such as Crichton's own THE LAVENDER HILL MOB. Cleese and Michael Palin, as the hit man with a stutter and a love of animals, come from the anarchic tradition of Monty Python. The movie pays savage tribute to another Ealing comedy, THE LADYKILLERS, as Palin attempts to kill a witness to the gang's getaway. The glamorous con woman (Jamie Lee Curtis) is from Preston Sturges's great comedy THE LADY EVE, while Kevin Kline provides his own unique feverish comic intensity. But, in the midst of this breathless comedy, something else happens. The barrister, Archie Leach (Cleese), who is defending one of the gang, is jolted out of his tight-laced British existence by Curtis's life force. And Curtis--like Barbara Stanwyck in THE LADY EVE--falls into her own trap: falling in love with the man she's conning. The 78-year-old Crichton never before had such rich material. He times everything in this brilliant comedy with the precision of a Swiss watch.

A FISH CALLED WANDA is number 21 on the American Film Institute’s list of America's 100 Funniest Movies. A FISH CALLED WANDA is number 39 on the British Film Institute’s Top 100 British Films of the 20th Century. Archibald Leach is the name that John Cleese and Charles Crichton give to the character that Cleese plays in A FISH CALLED WANDA. This is a tribute to the great Cary Grant--Archibald Leach was Grant's real name. Stephen Fry makes a brief cameo appearance in the airport sequence. He is best known for his television roles in BLACKADDER II and JEEVES AND WOOSTER. Also he is the author of THE LIAR, THE HIPPOPOTAMUS, and MOAB IS MY WASHPOT. And he starred as Oscar Wilde in WILDE.

While I prefer immediate payment, I can understand needing a couple of days to transfer funds between accounts, or waiting a few days until you get your paycheck. Shipping Information:

The shipping calculator provides the options for shipment. Most single VHS Tapes can be shipped First Class for about the same cost as Media Mail. First Class does have a 13 oz maximum weight so two or more tapes purchased will ship via Media Mail. I will combine multiple purchases into one shipment which can save you on shipping charges. To give you an idea of the savings, Media Mail shipping rates change at one pound increments and most VHS Tapes weigh between 6 and 8 ounces.

Up to 1 lb - $3.38 (also what Media Mail rate would be for 1 tape)

1 to 2 lbs - $3.77

2 to 3 lbs - $4.16

3 to 4 lbs - $4.55

4 to 5 lbs - $4.94

For purchases up to 4 tapes, I will use a padded mailer. More than that and I will use a cardboard box. Bear in mind that adds about 6 ounces to the total. If you were to purchase 10 tapes, the original combined invoice would show $33.80 for the shipping charges. When I combine them and send you a revised invoice, the shipping would be significantly less.

Handling Time:

eBay now requires sellers to specify handling time. My handling time is 1 business day, but if you purchase something and pay for it by 10am Pacific Time, it will go to the post office the same day. I go to the post office every weekday at 11:00 am.

Return Policy:

7 day money back (not including shipping charges). If there is a problem, please communicate with me.
