Presenting a North Beach Treasures "Treasure Chest" item:
What is the "Treasure Chest?" It's a "showcase" of some of the very best glass I find each year. Items listed in "Treasure Chest" are chosen for a combination of superb quality, unusual size for their color and overall rarity. These pieces of sea glass are "the Best of the Best," so to speak, representing maybe 1/10th of one percent of all pieces I find.
Offered here:
A somewhat larger and smoothly frosted piece of ULTRA rare DEEP ROSE beach picked sea glass, found on a remote beach in the Pacific Northwest. This piece additionally has traces of a "fan" pattern on one side, and I believe this actually came from antique "Cranberry Glass."
This is-- at least on the dozen odd beaches around the world where I have beachcombed for 40 years-- possibly THE single rarest color of "production" glass that ends up becoming sea glass. Cranberry Glass is not exactly "rare," and you can find it at most antique malls, but it was almost exclusively decorative or "fancy" glassware, hence very unlikely to just be "thrown away" to end up in the sea.
Condition: Fairly nice and smooth, good frosting with a couple of tiny "dimples" from more recent vintage chips, but they are mostly frosted over; with rounded edges, all sides smooth-- certainly "jewelry grade," in a broad sense of the term. Size: Just over 7/8" (22mm) long by almost 13/16" (20mm) across at widest by just over 3/16" (5mm) thick, at thickest. Rarity: Deep Rose/Cranberry-- going only by personal experience-- about 10 TIMES rarer than Orange, which is recognized as "the rarest" sea glass color. In three years of selling sea glass on eBay, I have never seen another piece offered for sale, by ANY seller. Treasure Chest comments: I chose to feature this piece here primarily because of the rarity factor of the color. In a broader, it is one of the largest pieces I've found in this color.

Thank you for looking at items in my eBay store!
If you like what you see, please sign up for the "Store Newsletter" (bottom of left column) to receive periodic information about new items.
I do combine shipping if you buy multiple lots, and I also will combine store and auction purchases if made within a week of each other. Note low shipping costs-- most lots ship via USPS first class mail to save expenses. $5.00 to ship and "handle" a single little piece of glass by Priority Mail strikes me as a bit extravagant. Priority Mail is used for bulkier and heavier items.
Note: All glass I offer for sale on eBay is from my personal collection, and is "natural," as found by me on various local and regional beaches. I do not tumble, treat, oil or otherwise "improve" the glass I sell-- what you see is what you get. I have been a seaglass collector for about 40 years-- since I was six years old. For more information, please see the additional store pages (links at left) about grading, as well as my "About Me" page, or my eBay "My World" profile and blog pages.
