{Up for auction}  British Cyclist Mark Cavendish's personally race worn Team Columbia HTC 2009 Tour de France Green Sprinter's Podium Presentation Podium Jersey.  This podium presentation jersey was presented to Mark Cavendish on the PMU Podium following the completion of a stage during the 2009 Tour de France.  Cavendish held the green jersey from stages 2-7 and stages 11-12.  Known as the Manx Missile, Cavendish is widely regarded as the fastest sprint cyclist on the planet.  Cavendish had a terrific 2009 Tour de France, and battled with Norwegian Cyclist Thor Hushovd for the Maillot Vert.  Cavendish finished 2nd in the Sprint Points Classification, but left with 6 stage victories including the final stage on the Champs Elysees. 

This style of garment was never made available to the public as a retail/replica version, and the jersey itself is basically entirely self-authenticating.  Actual Tour de France Podium Jerseys are perhaps the most sought after garments in the sport, and no replica versions have ever been produced for any reason.  This garment was engineered by Nike specifically for the riders of the Tour, designed entirely for performance at the highest level.  These unique long sleeve, reverse-zip jerseys are only worn by the riders during the Podium Ceremonies following the completion of each stage.  The garment was provided to the Tour Organizing Committee (ASO) by Nike, who provided the garment with Cavendish's Columbia HTC Sponsor Logos to Cavendish during the Podium Ceremony.   It's a long standing tradition, and the ASO handles all of the distribution of the appropriate garments to the riders at the top of each Race Classification Category.  Further details on this process are available at request.  The garment is sized appropriately (Medium) for Cavendish.  Made in Italy.
