A Priceless South East Pennsylvania Copper ,And Hand Wrought Iron "Posnet" or "Sugar Pot" Used For Cooking Small Amounts Of Food On The Open Hearth of a Fireplace . This is an extremely early one ,and is in totally original condition. It shows no signs of it having been cleaned and polished ,it was put away just as you see it ,with some ash burn still seen on the front legs. Take a good look at the feet ,and the tips. This wear is exactly what you want ot see on any piece of "old Iron " . If you seen what looks like an old piece ,and it appears to have the proper surface patina, but has no wear on the feet or the tips ,it's most likely a repro ( or a miracle) ,and believe me some are very convincing these days. The makers of the repros always seem to forget about the wear part .This one is a very scarce example of an Early Open Hearth Cooking piece. It has NO repairs of any kind !! It measures 6" high to the tip of the Rattail Handle x 5" dia. at the Tinned Pot end. There is an old label inside reading " Great Grandmas" ,"Hand Made Copper" and the name "Julia Peterson". I'm selling this exceptional piece of Americana with NO reserve ,and only one penny to start .Insured shipping in the US only is 12.85. No second chance offers. Payment is due in 7 Days.
