Up for bid is a fascinating, but  EXTREMETLY SCARCE  Book of Mormon called "A VOICE FROM THE DUST"!   This book was printed way back in 1939 by the Deseret News Press.  This book is one of the most different and UNIQUE copies of the Book of Mormon that has ever to be printed.  The purpose in creating and printing The Book of Mormon in this UNIQUE fashion was to attempt to help younger readers gain a greater interest in the Book of Mormon and to help them understand it better.  It's publication was given much praise and attention by church leaders such as, President Joseph Fielding Smith, Elder John A. Widstoe (Council of the Twelve), Charles A. Callis (Counic of the Twelve), Antoine R. Ivins (First Council of the Seventy), Rufus K. Hardy (First Coucil of the Seventy), and many, many other prominent LDS church leaders. Widstoe, Council of the Twelve Apostles --- FORM It was the editor's desire to present this sacred history in a form that might be easier for readers to understand.  To accomplish this she tried some changes such as modernizing the puctuation and printing the text in paragraph format -- the idea being that with this format the thought of the reader would not be broken by the seperation of verses.  Significant and beautiful passages and special prayers are set in italics and bold face type.  To add interest and to facilitate the reading, the pages of the text are broken by captions which are strong, arresting and add insight into what is about to be read.  A few poems have also been included throughout as enrichment material.  For example below is seen a photogrpah of Columbus's sailing to America and along side on another page is a poem about Columbus and his journey to America.  These elements of course are places right next to the area in the Book of Mormon where Nephi recounts his vision of seeing the America's being founded. ARRANGEMENT The arrangement of books is chronological, starting with the Book of Ether.  Some slight rearrangement of texts needed to be made for the purpose of making the story continous and thus mantaing interest.  All rearraged texts are accompanied by the text reference of the Book of Moron and in no way change the doctrine or purpose of the Book of Mormon. The book covers each verse of the Book of Mormon along with additonal insight and commentary along the way.  The text is virtually unchanged, except for the following two exceptions.  First the expression "and it came to pass" was ommitted in many instances because of its frequent repetition and secondly the majority of the prophecies of Isiah are ommited due to their easy accessibility in the Bible.
