This is a superb beaded artefact by the Iroquois people.
This pouch of round form is decorated on both sides with floral designs in numerous shades of red, blue, yellow and green beads against a black velvet ground edged with red fabric. Each side is overlaid at top with a beaded panel.
The top of the pouch is slightly undone and the fabric shows minor signs of wear. Very little bead loss.
Apart from those, this pouch is in excellent condition given its age.
Circa 1900
Height: 7"
Width: 6 ½"
A very nice and old piece.
