A very nice brass made TARA HEAD wallhanging (INDIA).













You are looking at / bidding on a very attractive brass made wall hanging which depicts Goddess TARA HEAD having a very attractive engraving work done all over the face.  This wall hanging has a hook on the backside so, one can hang this TARA HEAD easily on the wall. Look at the jewelry work and the facial expressions. The dimensions of this wall hanging are 7.5" X 5" X 2.5".  The weight of this statue is 1.5 lbs (660 grams).
About deity Tara:- An important female deity in Tibetan Buddhism. Tara is a Sanskrit word the precise meaning of which is uncertain (perhaps ‘star’), but is understood by Tibetans to mean ‘saviouress’. She is regarded with great affection and devotion by Tibetans, and her cult occupies a status similar to that of the Virgin Mary in Christianity. According to one account, she sprang from the tears of Chenrezi as he was about to enter final nirvana. When he looked back and saw the suffering beings who still remained to be saved he wept and decided to remain until all beings had reached salvation. Tara embodies and expresses the compassionate nature of this Bodhisattva.
